Anghami and Huawei are marking five years of partnership, highlighting a collaboration that has helped shape the connected entertainment landscape across the Middle East and North Africa. What began as an app listing on Huawei’s AppGallery has evolved into a broad, cross-device experience that brings music streaming into smartphones, wearables, and even vehicles powered by Huawei’s technology platforms.
Since joining Huawei’s AppGallery, Anghami has steadily expanded its integration within the company’s ecosystem. The partnership first gained traction in 2021 with the launch of the Anghami app for HarmonyOS smartwatches, allowing users to control playback and discover music directly from their wrist. The collaboration later extended into in-car entertainment through Huawei’s HMS for Car platform, embedding Anghami’s full music experience directly into compatible dashboards. Most recently, the platform was enhanced again with a dedicated app for the Huawei Watch 5, optimized for HarmonyOS 5.
These integrations reflect how both companies have focused on developing a more seamless and connected music experience for users—bridging mobile, wearable, and automotive environments. The partnership has made it possible for listeners to move effortlessly between devices while maintaining access to the same personalized library of Arabic and international tracks.
“Working with Huawei over the past five years has allowed us to transform the way people connect with music,” said Choucri Khairallah, Chief Business Officer at Anghami. “Together, we’ve brought Anghami into more moments of our users’ daily lives, whether they’re checking their watch, driving to work, or relaxing at home, with experiences that feel effortless and personal.”
William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group for the Middle East and Africa Eco-Development and Operation, described the partnership as a reflection of Huawei’s broader regional vision. “By connecting Anghami’s locally loved content with our ecosystem of devices, from smartphones and wearables to cars, we’re bringing smarter, more personal entertainment to millions of users across the Middle East and Africa,” he said.
The collaboration also highlights a broader trend among technology and media companies seeking to blend content with hardware ecosystems. For Huawei, the ongoing integration of third-party services like Anghami strengthens its platform strategy following the global expansion of HarmonyOS. For Anghami, it provides deeper regional reach and a way to engage listeners wherever they interact with technology—at home, in motion, or behind the wheel.
As both companies continue to expand across connected touchpoints, the partnership stands as an example of how local content platforms and global tech manufacturers can collaborate to create experiences tailored to regional cultures and habits.
