Acer has introduced the Swift Air 16, a new entry in its Swift laptop lineup designed for professionals who need high performance in a highly portable package. Announced in Dubai, the device stands out for pairing a large 16-inch display with a weight of under 1 kilogram, making it one of the lightest laptops of its size currently on the market.
The Swift Air 16 is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, with configurations available up to the Ryzen AI 7 350. These chips bring integrated AI acceleration through AMD’s NPU, enabling the device to handle local AI workloads efficiently while conserving power. Users can expect up to 13 hours of battery life depending on configuration and usage. Alongside the processors, AMD Radeon graphics deliver performance suited to video conferencing, streaming, creative applications, and multitasking.
As part of Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC category, the Swift Air 16 supports Windows 11 features designed around AI assistance, including Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and improvements to Windows Search. These are aimed at helping users streamline productivity and content creation while maintaining responsive performance.
The design emphasizes portability without sacrificing build quality. Constructed from magnesium-aluminum alloy, the chassis balances durability with a weight of just 2.18 pounds, available in four color options. Display choices include a 16-inch WQXGA+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, deep blacks, and full DCI-P3 coverage, or a WUXGA IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. Both adopt a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering extra vertical screen space for work and creative tasks.
Other features include a 2MP FHD IR webcam with privacy shutter, support for Windows Hello facial recognition, dual microphones, and dual speakers for clearer calls and media playback. Connectivity options cover two USB-C ports with full functionality, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI 1.4 with HDCP support, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth.
The Acer Swift Air 16 will be available in EMEA starting November 2025, with a base price of USD 999. Pricing and configurations will vary by market.
