Acer introduces affordable Android tablets and versatile 5G tools

Acer is expanding its mobile computing and connectivity lineup with the introduction of two Android tablets—the Iconia V12 and V11—alongside a trio of 5G-ready devices aimed at users who need consistent, fast internet access across different environments. The new products are designed with portability, everyday usability, and network flexibility in mind, targeting both general consumers and mobile professionals.

The Acer Iconia V12 and V11 tablets offer a familiar balance of features focused on casual use, education, and light multitasking. Built with lightweight aluminum alloy chassis, the tablets keep things portable, with the V12 weighing 595g and the more compact V11 at just 500g. Their slim profile, combined with optional accessories like a folio case and stylus, is clearly aimed at users who need an affordable mobile device that won’t feel cumbersome.

Each tablet features a 16:10 display with up to 2K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate—specs that place them a notch above many entry-level models in terms of screen quality. Powering these tablets is a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, paired with Android 15 and up to 8GB of RAM. While not designed for high-performance workloads, this setup is sufficient for media consumption, video calls, browsing, and productivity apps. Battery life, capped at around 10 hours, is supported by an 8,000 mAh cell and USB-C fast charging. Storage is equally generous, offering up to 256GB internally and support for microSD cards up to 1TB.

On the connectivity front, both models include dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, while the V11 includes optional 4G LTE—a practical addition for users in areas with inconsistent Wi-Fi access. Camera specs are modest, with 5MP on the front and 8MP on the rear, offering enough quality for basic photography and video conferencing.

In parallel, Acer is introducing three new 5G devices that cater to different levels of mobility. The Acer Connect X6E Plus 5G CPE serves as a fixed wireless solution with support for global 5G NR carrier aggregation. It’s compatible with eSIM, Nano SIM, and virtual SIM configurations, and adds convenience through NFC touch-to-connect pairing with Android devices. Supporting Wi-Fi 6E, 4×4 MU-MIMO, and up to 128 simultaneous clients, it’s a fit for shared workspaces or households with multiple connected devices.

For mobile users, the Acer Connect M4 Mobile Wi-Fi is a portable hotspot built to operate in over 135 countries thanks to tri-SIM support. It comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a large 8,000 mAh battery that doubles as a power bank, and strong security features including WPA3, firewalls, SIM lock, and VPN compatibility. With up to 28 hours of use per charge and simultaneous support for 16 devices, it’s tailored for users who frequently work remotely or travel.

Finally, the Acer Connect D5 Pro 5G dongle rounds out the lineup with plug-and-play 5G access. Supporting download speeds of up to 3.2 Gbps, 4×4 MIMO, and ultra-low latency, the dongle is compatible with major desktop and laptop platforms including Windows, ChromeOS, macOS, and Linux. At just 52g, it’s an easy travel companion for those who prefer wired reliability and fast connectivity without configuring hotspots.

Acer’s new products underscore a consistent theme: practicality over excess. Rather than introducing flagship-level hardware, the company is focusing on durable, portable devices that balance performance, affordability, and connectivity. Whether it’s for students needing reliable tablets or professionals requiring secure mobile internet, the new range fills common gaps in mobile productivity without overcomplicating the user experience.

Availability in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa):

  • Iconia Tab V11: August, starting at USD 229
  • Iconia Tab V12: July, starting at USD 289
  • Connect X6E Plus 5G CPE: September, starting at USD 249
  • Connect M4 5G Mobile Wi-Fi: August, starting at USD 199
  • Connect D5 Pro 5G Dongle: September, starting at USD 199

As with most product rollouts, exact pricing and configurations will vary by market.
