Here’s what’s streaming on Disney+ this January: new seasons, Marvel madness, documentaries, and binge-worthy drama

New year, new watchlist, and Disney+ is clearly not easing us into January gently. From long-running comfort TV and buzzy returning dramas to globe-trotting National Geographic spectacles and a brand-new Marvel series, this month’s lineup is stacked with reasons to cancel plans and embrace the couch.

Here’s everything worth streaming on Disney+ this January.

The Big Returns: Familiar Faces, Fresh Drama

Grey’s Anatomy – Season 22, Part 2
Streaming from 16 January

Because time is a flat circle and Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will outlive us all. The back half of Season 22 continues the emotional rollercoaster, surgical chaos, and personal drama that has somehow kept Grey’s Anatomy running longer than some real medical careers.

Abbott Elementary – Season 5, Part 1
Streaming from 9 January

The smartest sitcom on TV returns with more dry humor, heart, and painfully relatable school chaos. Expect sharp writing, character growth, and jokes that hit harder if you’ve ever met a school administrator.

A Thousand Blows – Season 2
All episodes available from 9 January

This gritty East End crime drama comes back swinging. Mary Carr is reclaiming her crown, alliances are fragile, and vengeance is very much on the menu. If you like period drama with fists, power struggles, and moral decay, this one’s your January binge.

High Potential – Season 2, Part 2
Weekly from 7 January

A brilliant mind, unconventional crime-solving, and a partnership that shouldn’t work—but does. Kaitlin Olson continues to shine in this clever procedural that balances sharp humor with smart mysteries.

Tell Me Lies – Season 3
2-episode launch on 13 January

Messy relationships, emotional manipulation, and college-era chaos return. Lucy and Stephen’s toxic orbit pulls everyone back in, proving once again that some romances are like car crashes—you can’t look away.

FX’s The Beauty
3-episode launch on 22 January

Fashion turns fatal in this stylish, disturbing thriller. When supermodels begin dying under mysterious circumstances, FBI agents chase a conspiracy stretching across Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York. Perfection comes at a price—and it’s horrifying.

Marvel Enters the Chat

Wonder Man
All episodes available from 28 January

Marvel Television delivers a more meta, behind-the-scenes take on hero culture. Two actors at very different stages of their careers chase a life-changing role in a superhero remake, blurring the line between Hollywood ambition and comic-book mythology.

National Geographic: Big Earth, Bigger Stories

Pole to Pole with Will Smith
All episodes available from 14 January

Will Smith crosses all seven continents in a jaw-dropping, deeply human adventure series. From the Amazon to Antarctica, this is equal parts extreme exploration, cultural connection, and science-driven storytelling—classic National Geographic at its cinematic best.

Cheetahs Up Close with Bertie Gregory
Streaming from 7 January

Up close, personal, and breathtaking. Bertie Gregory delivers another stunning wildlife documentary that captures nature at its most intimate and intense.

The Tale of Silyan
Streaming from 9 January

A powerful National Geographic story that dives deep into history, culture, and human resilience.

Movies, Comfort Watches & Bonus Treats

  • Babysitting and Babysitting 2 land on 1 January, perfect for light, chaotic, family-friendly laughs.
  • The Bourne collection arrives in full on 1 January, bringing Jason Bourne’s entire high-octane saga to Disney+.
  • The complete The Twilight Saga is also available from 1 January, because some Januarys demand melodrama, vampires, and questionable life choices.
  • Disneyland Handcrafted (coming soon) offers a charming behind-the-scenes look at the artisans and creators who bring Disney Parks magic to life.

The January Verdict

January on Disney+ is doing the most—in the best way. Whether you’re craving prestige drama, comfort comedy, Marvel meta-stories, globe-spanning documentaries, or pure nostalgia binges, this month delivers across every genre.

Winter nights just got a lot easier to survive.
