The Realme 11 Pro 5G enters a highly competitive market segment, squaring up against brands that are also making strides in innovation and value for money. It claims to stand out with its impressive specifications, including a Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a new 5G chipset, a 108-megapixel primary camera, and a hefty battery.

Design

Realme has been known for its design aesthetics, and the Realme 11 Pro 5G is no exception. With a glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back, the device feels solid and comfortable to hold.

The phone features a trendy gradient finish on the back that reflects different patterns when caught in light, making it visually appealing. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which is fast and reliable. However, it’s worth noting that the device does not come with any IP rating for dust or water resistance, which some competitors in the price range do offer.

Display

The Realme 11 Pro 5G sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels ensures crisp and vibrant visuals.

The 120Hz refresh rate makes for a silky smooth scrolling experience and enhances the overall fluidity in day-to-day use. Colour reproduction is accurate, with deep blacks and excellent contrast ratios, a characteristic of Super AMOLED panels.

The device also supports HDR10+ for streaming compatible content. The peak brightness is adequate, making outdoor visibility satisfactory even under direct sunlight. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor that is quite fast and accurate.

Camera

The quad-camera setup on the Realme 11 Pro 5G is headlined by a 108-megapixel primary sensor. Images captured in broad daylight exhibit a great level of detail and vibrant colour reproduction.

The 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens does a decent job in landscape shots, but a drop in detail is visible compared to the primary sensor.

The 2-megapixel macro and depth sensors provide additional flexibility, although the quality of the macro shots can be hit-or-miss. Low light performance is reasonably good with the help of Night Mode, but images can turn out slightly grainy in extremely dim conditions. Video recording capabilities are also quite satisfactory.

Performance

Under the hood, the Realme 11 Pro 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM options. The performance of the device is robust, managing to handle daily tasks smoothly. Multitasking and switching between apps is a breeze, with minimal lag or stutter.

The device also holds its own in terms of gaming, with games like PUBG and Call of Duty running smoothly at medium to high settings. However, the device can get a bit warm after prolonged gaming sessions.

Battery

The battery life on the Realme 11 Pro 5G is impressive, thanks to the 5000mAh battery.

It can easily last a full day with moderate to heavy usage, which includes browsing, social media, streaming, and some gaming. It comes with a 67W SuperVOOC fast charger in the box, which can charge the device from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes, which is quite commendable.

Software

The Realme 11 Pro 5G runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11. It’s a clean and intuitive interface with several customization options and features. While it comes with a few pre-installed apps, they can be uninstalled if not needed. The software runs smoothly, and updates are relatively frequent, ensuring security patches and new features are not far behind.

Verdict

The Realme 11 Pro 5G stands as a comprehensive package in the mid-range segment. Its superlative display, complementing the robust performance, stylish design, capable camera system, and enduring battery life, culminates in an impressive smartphone experience.

The minor shortcomings, such as the absence of water and dust resistance and the potential for slight heating during heavy use, do slightly detract from its overall appeal. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a mid-range smartphone that delivers on almost all fronts, the Realme 11 Pro 5G is a worthy contender.
