WARNING

Spoilers ahead!

The Marvel starts off like most other Marvel movies: the bad guy looking for a doom weapon to end the world/system/universe but if you have seen any of the trailers a good chunk of the movie can be figured out or that’s what Marvel wanted you to think. Or at least that is what I was thinking.

The plot line became much more diverse with its storytelling, especially considering it’s a 1 hour 45 minutes movie. It comes in a lot shorter than most other Marvel movies, which easily cross the 2-hour mark. However, it does not mean that it is a bad movie per se, rather they have fewer storylines to explore, for example, the main villain, although we dislike her Dar-wenn there is no hate for the character.

The only thing I noticed about Dar-wenn was the shiny piece of metal between her teeth, I was like, wait, why did I notice that? it took me a while to realize that there was actually zero character development for her. (credit for this bit goes out to someone else for noticing this point; you know who you are)

While you won’t be dying of laughter there is a lot of humour, reminding me of phases 1 and 2 when Tony Stark would make jokes. Ms. Marvel is still following captain fandom and the movie took that concept and ran with it as the focus of that character. Captain Rabeau the Second also makes an appearance here with a lot of character development between her and Carl Danvers.

On an interesting side note, we find out that Captain Marvel is actually Captain” Queen” Marvel but no spoilers here, we wouldn’t want to spoil the entire movie. Also, goose decides to lay a lot of eggs.

To conclude, we definitely recommend taking the family for a weekend show of the Marvels. It’s something the family can watch while the geeks can get their nerd-on preparing for the next phase of the MCU. PS- there is a post-credit scene leading into the future of the Avengers too.
