Amazon’s latest generation basic Kindle, which was launched at the end of 2022, delivers great improvements over the previous edition, while keep the title of the most affordable and powerful e-readers on the market. The tastes model packs a 300ppi high-res screen, a USB-C port, and 16GB of storage.

Design wise, not a lot has changed with the All-new Kindle compared to the 2019 mode. The All-new Kindle is definitely smaller while maintaining a 6-inch 1072×1448 300ppi Carta 1000 screen. The overall screen upgrade results in beautiful output and quality through the device’s 16-level grayscale panel. Text is super crisp, and is easy to see without glare in any lighting.

The new size and great to hold and very comfortable to hold and use for long periods of time. It’s slim, lightweight and will easily slip into your bag.

Amazon has has also rolled out USB-C for its latest Kindle charging port, which takes around two hours to fully charge, and in turn gives you around 3 weeks a single charge during our test. Of course, the reading light can be manually adjusted from a drop down menu, which also include changing the typeface, text size and other accessibility features. The power button is also positioned next to the USB-C port on bottom.

UI wise, the 11th-generation Kindle splits the interface into two primary options, Home and Library. Home, displayed “recommendations” and Library of course holds your purchases and your collection in the cloud. To start using, browsing or pick up a book where you left off, all you need to do is unlock it by pressing the power button on the frame, and once you’re in, you can start controlling the device through taps on the screen, swipe the edge to go forward or backward.

You can search for and download titles from the Kindle store directly to your device via Wi-Fi and, can connect to Bluetooth speakers or headphones to listen to audiobooks.

Should you buy it?

Absolutely! The All-new Kindle is priced at AED 399 in the UAE, and is worth it in very aspect, from the upgraded features, to the all new screen resolution and battery life.
