Creative’s Aurvana In-Ear 2 Plus review!

The Aurvana In-Ear 2 Plus describes itself as “Precise Earphones for Music and Voice Calls” and while it does do a good job for both, I find it being overshadowed by the earphones I use on a regular basis.

That’s not to say that these earphones are terrible – I simply do not find too many special qualities.

Performance

One thing I really did love about these earphones was how good the heavier music sounded. The In-Ear 2 Plus is surprisingly loud enough without needing to increase the volume on your phone more than halfway. This comes in handy for the heavier sounds of the band Issues, especially when you’re in public. I’ve found that with my regular earphones, even if the volume on my phone is just a little above halfway, the noise leaks and the people around me can hear it as well. And I know this is a nuisance, when I listen to Issues, because I get weird looks on the metro and people have backed away from me.

But with the In-Ear 2 Plus, there is no sound leakage at all (well, not unless the volume is turned up all the way). This is something I really appreciate because sometimes I just want to listen to my heavy music without being judged.

The bass is prominent, managing to stay at an appropriate level without distorting the tracks you listen to. Tracks that fade in, ex: You and I by PVRIS, are also a joy to listen to. You’ve got your distinct bass and slow drum beat, while Lynn Gunn’s vocals still shine around you.

The sound quality manages to stay excellent with any genre.

As for noise cancellation, I can sadly say that I didn’t realize a family member was trying to talk to me as I used the earphones. I think it’s safe to say that the In-Ear 2 Plus does an exceptional job in that aspect.

Comfort and Design

Surprisingly, I didn’t have a problem with the earbuds falling out of my ears like I usually do with rubber earbuds. They fit snugly and don’t fall out even when you’re walking. They’re extremely comfortable to wear, even after prolonged use, and do come in handy when you’re out and about and speed walking to your destinations.

The earbuds do stick out of your ears, which I find a little bit odd, but it’s not too big of an issue when you have long hair that covers it.

It has a very sophisticated look to them, which is perfect for all the self-conscious audiophiles. However, the thinness of the wires throws me off and I feel like they’re super delicate. Every time I had to put the earphones away. I made sure I didn’t bend the wires in any unusual way because I was terrified of damaging them – they just look and feel extremely flimsy.

While these earphones aren’t the worst I’ve ever tried, I do feel like I’ve experienced the same audio quality in other earphones (with the exception of no sound leakage with even the heaviest music).

They aren’t anything special, but they still do deliver admirable sound quality which should not be overlooked.
