Bose has been one of the best names in home audio systems for a long time and doesn’t really need introduction. Today, we take a look at the company’s latest and smallest product: The SoundTouch 10.
The SoundTouch 10 is the smallest speaker in the SoundTouch series, and is priced around AED 999. The speaker is good-looking, very well-designed with robust sound — but is it worth the price tag?

Design & Functionality
The SoundTouch 10 is available in black or white and weighs around 1.9kg. On the font, the panel is covered by a speaker grille; on the top, you will find the control panel for Power, Bluetooth/Sound Source, Volume and six memory presets. On the front, there’s a LED light that indicates the different functions on the speaker, from Wi-Fi connection to auxiliary, Bluetooth and sources.
The package also includes a remote to control the speaker with additional track forward and backward controls. You can also control it using the app on your smartphone.

You can set the six preset buttons to launch favorite Internet radio stations and playlists from different sources, like Spotify for example. To do so, all you need to do is hold down the button and the SoundTouch 10 will save the playlist or station playing.
SoundTouch supports Deezer, Pandora, Spotify and others. It can also play music stored on networked devices and iTunes libraries.
SoundTouch 10 is also Wi-Fi enabled, supporting 802.11n dual-band 5GHz and allows to connect to other SoundTouch for a multi-room, multi-speaker experience. You can connect more than one speaker on your network and can assign them by rooms and groups.

The ports are on the back and provide the options to connect to a computer with a USB cable to setup the wireless network. There’s also an auxiliary input port to directly connect a music source to the SoundTouch 10.

Sound Performance
Putting the design and specs aside, sound quality is the most important feature of any speaker.
Unfortunately, to begin with, the SoundTouch 10 is a mono speaker and you can’t set multiple speakers to serve as stereo either.
The speaker is loud with good audio quality and can easily fill up an entire room. The SoundTouch 10 delivers a solid bass response, but cranking up the volume all the way up compromises the sound clarity and actually distorts a bit. At low to medium volumes, the speaker manages to capture great details with with solid balance across the mids and highs.
Verdict
For entry level product, we think the the SoundTouch 10 has what it takes to make into may homes. SoundTouch 10 is great for a speaker for its size and sounds much bigger than what it looks, although the price tag of AED 999 is higher than many of its competitors. One thing is clear though, if you’re looking at putting together a multi-room setup, then this is a great option with crystal clear audio quality expected from Bose.
