Alright, let’s talk about Nomad’s latest creation, the Rocky Point Band for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This bad boy is Nomad’s first band specifically designed for the Ultra series, but don’t worry, it works with other Apple Watches too, as long as they’re the bigger sizes (42mm, 44mm, or 45mm).

Finding the perfect balance

Now, let’s be honest, the Apple Watch Ultra is a beast of a watch. It’s rugged, it’s bold, and it demands a band that can keep up. Some of the existing options can be a bit too chunky or cumbersome, even for those of us who love the Ultra’s adventurous spirit. That’s where the Rocky Point Band comes in. It strikes the perfect balance between solidity and softness. It’s big enough to make a statement, yet supple enough to be genuinely comfortable.

Sweat-wicking wonder

One of the coolest features is the ventilation grooves. These, along with the numerous closure holes, ensure that your wrist stays dry and comfortable even during the most intense workouts. No more sweaty wristband syndrome!

Tough as nails, flexible as a gymnast

The band itself is made from compression-molded FKM, a fluoroelastomer similar to what Apple uses in its Sport Bands. But here’s the thing: Nomad’s version has a certain chunkiness that adds robustness without sacrificing flexibility. It’s like a tough-as-nails gymnast.

The buckle and retention slot are both made from titanium, echoing the look and feel of the Apple Watch Ultra itself. And let’s not forget the Nomad branding on the retention slot. It’s a subtle touch, but it adds to the overall athletic and muscular aesthetic.

Color me impressed

Now, let’s talk colors. Nomad offers three options: Storm (dark gray), Atlantic (dark blue), and Sol (sunshine yellow). While taste is subjective, I have to say, Sol is the clear winner for me. It’s bright, it’s cheerful, and it exudes a playful confidence.

A perfect match for the ultra

Although designed primarily for the Ultra models, the Rocky Point Band looks fantastic on other Apple Watches too. But it’s with the Ultra and Ultra 2 that it truly shines. It complements the watch’s powerful design and rugged capabilities, making it the perfect companion for extreme sports and everyday adventures alike.

The verdict

So, is the Rocky Point Band a hit? Absolutely. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish, and it’s built to last. If you’re looking for a band that can keep up with your active lifestyle and enhance the look of your Apple Watch Ultra, look no further.
