Lenovo Legion Pro 34WD-10 Ultrawide Monitor review: gaming and productivity never looked so good

Lenovo’s Legion Pro 34WD-10 marks the company’s first entry into OLED gaming monitors, delivering a stunning 34-inch ultrawide display designed for both gamers and professionals.

Design and Build QualityDisplay and PerformanceWho Is This Monitor For?

With a PureSight OLED panel, an aggressive 800R curvature, and a 21:9 aspect ratio, this monitor promises an immersive viewing experience. It comes with a UWQHD 3440×1440 resolution, a blazing-fast 240Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-responsive 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time, making it a top contender in the high-end gaming monitor market.

Lenovo’s Legion Pro 34WD-10 bridges the gap, delivering OLED’s cinematic contrast, and productivity-friendly features designed for gamers who demand the best and professionals who refuse to compromise.

Design and Build Quality

From the moment I unboxed the Legion Pro 34WD-10, the hexagonal stand, with its striking black-and-white contrast, makes a bold statement without veering into gaudy RGB excess.

The near-borderless display maximizes screen real estate, while a subtle RGB light strip at the base adds a touch of ambiance without overwhelming your workspace. That said, styling is subjective. The white-accented stand and hexagon base are a departure from Lenovo’s older Legion monitors (which were mostly black).

Build quality is premium, with a fully adjustable stand offering height, tilt, and swivel customization, along with VESA mount compatibility for those who prefer monitor arms. At 8.7 kg, it’s substantial but not unwieldy, striking that balance between sturdiness and practicality that a lot of monitors don’t always have from the get go.

What sets it apart are the thoughtful extras: an ambient light sensor that adjusts brightness based on your environment, a human presence sensor that powers down the screen when you step away (a smart safeguard against OLED burn-in), and a joystick-controlled OSD menu for effortless navigation.

Display and Performance

The 34-inch WOLED panel is the star of the show, delivering perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and vibrant, accurate colors. With a 3440×1440 resolution and an 800R curvature, the screen wraps around your field of vision, pulling you into games and movies like few monitors can.

It delivers the kind of image quality you’d expect from OLED – with a few caveats. Lenovo uses an LG Display WOLED (WRGB) panel, which brings superb contrast and rich colors. Blacks are essentially pixel-perfect black thanks to OLED’s emissive pixels (no backlight), yielding an “infinite” contrast ratio (specified 1,000,000:1).

In a dark room, scenes with deep shadows look truly inky and you won’t see any backlight bleed or haloing. Bright highlights in HDR also stand out dramatically against those blacks, creating a striking effect in games and movies.

Gaming performance is exceptional. The 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time eliminate motion blur, making fast-paced shooters and racing games feel buttery smooth. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility ensure tear-free gameplay, while HDR10 and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification bring out stunning highlights in supported titles.

But OLED isn’t just about gaming. The 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage and factory calibration) make it a strong choice for photo and video editing, where color accuracy is crucial. The only caveat? The WRGB subpixel layout can make fine text appear slightly less sharp than on traditional IPS panels a small price to pay for the breathtaking contrast OLED provides.

Where the Legion Pro 34WD-10 truly shines is in its versatility. The USB-C port with 140W Power Delivery means a single cable can charge your laptop while handling video and data transfer, turning the monitor into a docking station. Need to switch between a work laptop and a gaming PC? The built-in KVM switch lets you control both with one keyboard and mouse. And with Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes, you can view two inputs simultaneously.

The inclusion of PBP/PIP and KVM is a boon for productivity. You could have your work laptop on one side of the screen (1920×1440 portion) and your personal PC on the other side simultaneously, controlling both with one keyboard/mouse – effectively using the monitor as a dual-workspace hub. This flexibility is great for multi-taskers or those who work from home and need to use a company laptop alongside their own machine.

The 21:9 aspect can even fit a full 16:9 video in one window with extra space for notes or controls in another window, which content creators (streamers, video editors) might appreciate.

For professional users, the 21:9 aspect ratio provides ample space for spreadsheets, timelines, and multi-window workflows, while the 800R curve reduces eye strain by keeping edges within natural view. The inclusion of a 2.5Gb Ethernet port eliminates the need for extra dongles.

With its wide DCI-P3 gamut and factory calibration, the Legion is well-suited for content creation in sRGB or even P3 color spaces. Photographers and designers will love the true blacks when working on images with high contrast or dark themes – you can really trust your blacks and shadow detail.

Factory sRGB mode was measured with fantastic accuracy, meaning for standard web content or sRGB projects you might not even need further calibration. If you work in video, the 21:9 aspect is close to the DCI 2.35:1 ratio, and this monitor’s color and contrast make video playback look excellent.

However, note that there’s no official Adobe RGB coverage listed (likely around ~75-80% since WOLED panels prioritize P3). So for print-focused work or where Adobe RGB is needed, this might not be the best choice. For digital content though (web, video), P3 and sRGB are more relevant and are well covered.

No monitor is perfect, and OLED comes with its own considerations. Full-screen brightness hovers around 250 nits, which is fine for dim or moderately lit rooms but may struggle in direct sunlight. HDR excels in small highlights (peaking at 1300 nits), but large bright scenes are dimmer due to Automatic Brightness Limiting (ABL)—a common OLED trait.

The bigger concern for some will be burn-in risk. While Lenovo includes pixel shifting, screen savers, and logo dimming, static elements like taskbars and desktop icons could cause uneven wear over years of use. For mixed-use scenarios, this shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, but those who prefer to keep their monitors on 24 hours a day ( which we don’t recommend) may want to consider an IPS alternative.

Who Is This Monitor For?

The Lenovo Legion Pro 34WD-10 is a near-perfect blend of gaming performance and productivity utility. If you’re a competitive gamer who also needs a workstation, or a content creator who demands color accuracy alongside high refresh rates, this monitor delivers in ways few others can.

Yes, OLED has its limitations, brightness constraints, text clarity quirks, and long-term burn-in considerations. But for those who prioritize immersion, speed, and versatility, Lenovo’s first OLED ultrawide absolutely delivers that is of course if you’re ready to invest in it.
