Fender Player II series: a sonic upgrade for the modern guitar hero

Calling all tone aficionados and riff-slingers! Fender has unleashed a sonic beast upon the world with their all-new Player II Series. This ain’t just a simple upgrade, folks, it’s a full-on reimagining of Fender’s workhorse guitars and basses, designed to make your musical dreams a reality (and your neighbors very, very jealous).

So, what’s got us guitar nerds buzzing? For starters, the Player II Series boasts a range of new features and specs that will make your fingers dance across the fretboard. Think newly voiced Alnico V pickups that deliver a rich, dynamic tone, upgraded bridges for enhanced sustain, and rolled fingerboard edges for a buttery-smooth playing experience.

But let’s talk aesthetics, because these guitars are downright gorgeous. Inspired by vintage 50s and 60s cars, the ash and mahogany chambered bodies are finished in a stunning array of colors, including Coral Red, Aquatone Blue, Hialeah Yellow, and Birch Green. They look so good, you might be tempted to hang them on your wall as art instead of playing them (but don’t worry, they sound even better than they look).

Speaking of sound, let’s dive into some standout models. The Player II Jaguar, a favorite of guitar gods like John Frusciante and Kurt Cobain, gets a new Alnico V bridge pickup and a killer Aquatone Blue finish. The Player II Stratocaster and Telecaster both feature those same sweet-sounding single-coil Alnico V pickups and come in a choice of ash or mahogany bodies. Lefties, rejoice! The Strat is even available in a left-handed version.

The Player II lineup also includes an HSS Stratocaster, an HH Telecaster, and a Jazzmaster for those who crave a bit more sonic versatility. And for all you bassists out there, the Precision, Jazz, and Mustang basses have been upgraded with the new Alnico V Split-Coil pickups for a punchy, articulate tone.

Starting at £619 for the Mustang and going up to £829 for the top-tier HSS Stratocaster, the Player II Series offers incredible value for the price. These aren’t just guitars, they’re tools of sonic expression, built to inspire and empower the next generation of musicians.

So, whether you’re a seasoned shredder or a budding beginner, head over to the Fender website and check out the full Player II Series. Trust me, your ears (and your Instagram feed) will thank you.
