Audio-Technica releases Gold AT-LP60XBT turntable for Record Store Day 2025

As Record Store Day 2025 approaches, Audio-Technica has introduced a special gold edition of one of its most popular turntables, the AT-LP60XBT. The limited-run AT-LP60XBT-GD will be available exclusively through independent record stores across the U.S., priced at $199—about $40 less than the standard model.

This limited edition version celebrates vinyl culture and highlights the role of local record stores in supporting the growing interest in physical music formats. Designed with new vinyl listeners in mind, the AT-LP60XBT-GD maintains the same core features that made its predecessor a go-to option for beginners entering the world of turntables.

The turntable is fully automatic and belt-driven, which makes operation straightforward even for those with no previous experience. It supports both 33 1/3 RPM and 45 RPM playback, covering standard LPs and 7-inch singles. With dedicated controls for auto start/stop and tonearm lift, the setup is easy and unintimidating for first-time users.

Built-in phono amplification means the turntable can connect directly to powered speakers or stereo systems without needing additional equipment. For users who prefer wireless listening, the AT-LP60XBT-GD also features Bluetooth connectivity, supporting both SBC and aptX codecs for flexible streaming to speakers or headphones.

The gold finish offers a visual refresh of a familiar model while maintaining a compact, minimalist design. While the AT-LP60XBT has since been succeeded by newer models in Audio-Technica’s lineup, its reputation as a solid beginner-friendly turntable makes this release notable, especially at a reduced price point.

This Record Store Day exclusive is being positioned as a tribute to independent record stores and their ongoing role in sustaining vinyl culture. With vinyl sales continuing to grow and newcomers looking for accessible ways to start their collections, the gold edition of the AT-LP60XBT could be an appealing gateway for many.

Whether you’re just getting into vinyl or looking to gift a simple, reliable turntable, this limited edition brings together essential features and affordability with a nod to the aesthetics of the format’s golden era.
