The UAE has launched a new global campaign titled “1 Billion Acts of Kindness,” partnering with American YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast and other leading content creators. The initiative, announced at the 1 Billion Followers Summit, is backed by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Varkey Foundation, the philanthropic arm of GEMS Education.
The campaign’s goal is to inspire one billion recorded acts of kindness worldwide, using the reach and influence of digital creators to promote what organizers call a “culture of kind content.” The project seeks to move beyond entertainment-driven social media by encouraging creators to use their platforms for tangible, positive social impact.
Launched on November 7, the campaign invites creators from around the world to participate by documenting their contributions — whether volunteering locally or supporting larger global causes. Entries must be submitted through the 1 Billion Followers Summit website by December 1, accompanied by the hashtags #1BKindness and #1BillionSummit. Submissions will be evaluated on authenticity, creativity, storytelling, and measurable social impact by representatives from the Summit, MBRGI, the Varkey Foundation, and Beast Industries.
Ten creators with the most impactful projects will be announced during the next 1 Billion Followers Summit, scheduled for January 9–11, 2026, in Dubai. These creators will then collaborate directly with MrBeast and his team to expand their initiatives and document their ongoing efforts on global digital platforms.
The campaign also highlights the role of education and community development in shaping sustainable change. Sunny Varkey, founder of the Varkey Foundation, emphasized that “education is the greatest gift we can give—it transforms lives, families, and entire communities.” Jeff Housenbold, CEO of Beast Industries, added that social impact storytelling has proven to be “a powerful force for change,” noting the partnership’s focus on empowering children and inspiring compassion through digital engagement.
Alia Al Hammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, described the initiative as “a call for unity,” positioning content creators as ambassadors of generosity and solidarity. With the Summit representing more than 2.3 billion followers globally, the campaign underscores how coordinated online influence can be mobilized for real-world impact.
While “1 Billion Acts of Kindness” draws its strength from digital platforms, its ambitions are firmly rooted in human connection — turning viral visibility into everyday action, and transforming content creation into a global engine for empathy.
