Lego launches 3,600-piece Star Trek Enterprise-D set with limited shuttlepod bonus

LEGO has officially unveiled its first major collaboration with the Star Trek franchise—a detailed 3,600-piece model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. The long-rumored set arrives November 28, 2025, as part of the LEGO Icons line and will retail for $399.99 in the U.S. (€379.99 / £349.99 in Europe and the U.K.). The reveal follows months of speculation and leaked product images that circulated online earlier this fall.

The Enterprise-D model faithfully recreates Starfleet’s Galaxy-class flagship, known to fans as the central setting of The Next Generation. Measuring roughly 10.5 inches tall, 23.5 inches long, and 18.5 inches wide on its display stand, the set captures key details including a detachable saucer section, the secondary hull, and warp nacelles featuring translucent red and blue accents. The model also includes an opening shuttlebay, two miniature shuttlepods, and an angled display base with an information plaque and branded minifigure display tile.

In true LEGO Icons fashion, the set blends collector appeal with playability. Included are nine minifigures representing The Next Generation crew, each with accessories that nod to character traits from the series: Captain Jean-Luc Picard with his teacup, Commander Riker with a trombone, Data with his cat Spot, Geordi La Forge with an engineering case, Worf with a phaser, Dr. Beverly Crusher with a tricorder, Wesley Crusher with a portable tractor beam, Counselor Deanna Troi with a padd, and Guinan with her signature bottle.

Fans who purchase the Enterprise-D set between November 28 and December 1 will also receive a limited-edition 261-piece Shuttlepod Onizuka set as a gift-with-purchase. The smaller Type-15 shuttle model features opening wing doors and a rear hatch, interior LCARS display graphics, and a schematic referencing the Stardate 45076.3—an easter egg from The Next Generation canon. It also includes an exclusive Ensign Ro Laren minifigure, making it a sought-after collectible for completionists.

As part of the promotional rollout, LEGO is hosting a livestream event on its Black Friday website, where actor Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker) will appear to discuss the set. LEGO Insiders members will also have a chance to win a copy of the Enterprise-D signed by Frakes, with entries open through December 1.

The release of this set marks LEGO’s formal entry into the Star Trek universe—a franchise long absent from the company’s extensive catalog of licensed properties. Unlike past pop-culture collaborations such as Star Wars or Marvel, Star Trek’s addition represents a new step into adult-focused science fiction themes.

For long-time fans, the Enterprise-D offers both a nostalgic build and a display-worthy centerpiece that pays homage to one of television’s most enduring sci-fi icons. For LEGO collectors, it stands out as one of the company’s most intricate and culturally significant sets of 2025.
