Are you making the jump from Android to iOS with the iPhone 15? Here’s a quick guide on how to move

With the iPhone 15 launching this Friday, a lot of Android users would be moving to their new home on iOS (as is the trend every year). If you are one of the hoppers this year, here’s a quick guide on how to move your data safely.

Moving from Android to iOS can seem like a daunting task, but it can be a relatively simple process if you follow the right steps. Here are some general steps to follow:

  1. Back up your Android data: The first step is to ensure that all your important data is backed up before making the switch. You can use Google Backup or other backup services to backup your data to the cloud, or manually transfer your files to your computer or an external hard drive.
  2. Set up your iPhone: When you turn on your new iPhone, you’ll be prompted to set it up. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Wi-Fi, set up Touch ID or Face ID, and sign in to your Apple ID.
  3. Transfer your data: Apple provides a number of tools to help you transfer your data from your Android device to your new iPhone. One option is to use the “Move to iOS” app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. This app will transfer your contacts, messages, photos, and other data from your Android device to your new iPhone. You can also use iTunes or iCloud to transfer your data.
  4. Download your apps: Once your data is transferred, you’ll need to download your apps on your new iPhone. You can search for and download apps from the App Store, or use the “Purchased” tab in the App Store to download any apps you’ve previously purchased.
  5. Set up your new iPhone: Once you’ve transferred your data and downloaded your apps, you’ll want to set up your new iPhone to your liking. This can include setting up your home screen, customizing your settings, and exploring new features.
  6. Dispose of your Android device: Once you’ve completed the transfer and set up of your new iPhone, you can safely dispose of your old Android device. Be sure to wipe all data from the device before disposing of it.
  7. You can now also move WhatsApp directly from the app itself by navigating to settings – chats – Transfer chats to iPhone.
