After months of speculation and heightened tensions Guild Wars 2 much awaited expansion “Heart of Thorns” has got a date stamp on it. When will we be able to dive into the next chapter of this fantasy world? October 23rd.

That’s right, millions of gamers and I from around the world are only two months away from having the life sucked out of our souls and our fingers reduced to bloody and raw stumps.
Further more, after a tweet by IGN (that has since been pulled down) it was revealed that the core Guild Wars 2 game will be free. Arenanet, the developers of Guild Wars 2 are famous for their platform of not having subscription based game. Players of Guild Wars 2 merely buy the game and play forever, compared to other MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft which works through a monthly based subscription model. IGN also leaked the fact that HoT will also introduce raids, though that wasn’t much of a surprise since we already new Arenanet hired a Raid content designer.
Heart of Thorns is introducing a number of new features to Guild Wars 2, one of them being the new playable profession: the Revenant. Other upcoming features include but aren’t limited to: Guild Halls, new World versus World maps, Guild Halls, a new PvP gamemode called Stronghold and of course: more of the map unlocked.
I can barely stop shaking from the excitement (I’ve had multiple typos while writing this article) and can’t wait for October to come.
