Xbox Game Pass adds classic platforming fun with Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Xbox Game Pass subscribers are in for a treat as Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to join the service’s impressive library of games. Starting November 12th, players on console, PC, and Cloud with Game Pass Standard, Ultimate, or PC subscriptions will be able to experience the remastered adventures of the beloved purple dragon.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy, released in 2018, revitalized the classic PlayStation platformers: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Developed by Toys for Bob with guidance from original creator Insomniac, the trilogy faithfully recreates the gameplay while providing a stunning visual overhaul. Redesigned characters and vibrant worlds bring a fresh perspective to the nostalgic experience.

The addition of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to Xbox Game Pass is part of Microsoft’s ongoing integration of Activision Blizzard titles into the service. Since acquiring Activision Blizzard last year, Xbox has steadily expanded the Game Pass catalog with popular franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Call of Duty.

Following the acquisition, Toys for Bob transitioned to an independent studio, gaining more autonomy over its projects. Despite this change, the studio maintains a positive relationship with Xbox, with its next game set to be published by Xbox Game Studios. Fans have speculated that this upcoming title could be related to either Spyro the Dragon or Crash Bandicoot, given the developer’s history and evident fondness for these iconic characters.

For now, Spyro fans can eagerly anticipate revisiting or experiencing for the first time the remastered classics through Xbox Game Pass.
