Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown now available on iOS and Android

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has officially launched on mobile, giving iOS and Android users a chance to experience Ubisoft’s side-scrolling action platformer. After a solid critical reception during its console and PC debut in early 2024, the title is now making its way to smartphones and tablets, complete with a few mobile-specific enhancements.

Available as a paid game, The Lost Crown also offers a free trial for those who want to test it out before committing. For a limited time, players who purchase the full version before May 5 can grab it at a discounted price of $10.

The mobile versions of The Lost Crown include a handful of exclusive features aimed at streamlining gameplay on smaller screens. These additions include automatic parrying, auto-use of healing potions, and a time-slowing option to give players more control during fast-paced combat. Ubisoft has also implemented other mobile-focused quality-of-life updates to improve the overall experience.

Touch controls are supported, but players can also use external controllers for a more traditional console feel. On compatible devices, the game is capable of running at up to 60 frames per second, offering a smooth and responsive experience even on mobile.

Importantly, no internet connection is required to play, making it fully accessible offline. This makes the mobile version particularly appealing to on-the-go gamers or those in areas with limited connectivity.

Despite positive reviews on its original release, The Lost Crown reportedly fell short of Ubisoft’s sales projections. Following the launch, the publisher closed the development team at its Montpelier studio and shifted the staff to other projects. The mobile port was handled by Ubisoft Da Nang, the same team that previously brought the game to Mac.

With its arrival on iOS and Android, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown gets another shot at reaching a wider audience—this time, on devices where platformers have steadily grown in popularity.
