A widespread outage on the PlayStation Network (PSN) left gamers around the globe unable to access their accounts, play online, or even browse the PlayStation Store for several hours on September 30th. The outage impacted core services across multiple PlayStation consoles, including the PS5, PS4, PS Vita, and PS3.
Users reported being kicked out of online matches and experiencing crashes in their games. Basic account management functions like signing in, creating accounts, and editing profile details were also disrupted.
Sony acknowledged the issues on its PlayStation Network status page, assuring users that they were working to resolve the problems. However, no specific cause for the outage was provided. As of early October 1st, all services appear to have been restored, though some lingering issues may persist.
