Marvel has announced Deadpool VR, a new virtual reality title coming later this year to Meta Quest 3 and 3S. Developed by Twisted Pixel in collaboration with Oculus Studios and Marvel Games, the project was officially unveiled during Summer Game Fest 2025 and marks Deadpool’s first major foray into the VR space.
Built around an original storyline, Deadpool VR places players in the role of the infamous anti-hero as he’s pulled into Mojoworld—a chaotic dimension well-known to fans of the Marvel Universe. Lured by the promise of fast cash, Deadpool signs an all-too-typical contract without reading the fine print, quickly landing him in a series of battles against enemies both familiar and obscure. The adventure takes players through various Marvel locations, offering a mix of stylized action and irreverent humor true to the character.
Twisted Pixel, known for its work on Path of the Warrior, brings its experience with melee and hand-to-hand VR combat to the project. The studio promises a combination of acrobatic movement, brawler mechanics, and environmental interaction, designed to reflect Deadpool’s unpredictable fighting style. While the combat scenarios appear intentionally over-the-top, the developers are emphasizing creative player agency within the physical VR space—allowing for more than just basic attacks.
The voice of Deadpool will be provided by Neil Patrick Harris, adding a new twist to the character’s trademark snark. His casting may signal a slightly different take on the iconic tone, though Marvel hasn’t commented on whether this version will tie into any broader multiverse continuity.
Deadpool VR seems focused on embracing the absurdity of both the character and the medium, offering violent but stylized encounters ranging from traditional melee combat to outlandish interactions—like dismembering enemies with your own severed limb or using the environment in brutally cartoonish ways. Enemies range from paramilitary foes to monstrous creatures, reinforcing the game’s mix of slapstick and sci-fi horror.
With a planned launch set for later in 2025, Marvel’s Deadpool VR aims to add a chaotic, fourth-wall-breaking entry to the growing list of superhero VR titles. More details are expected in the months ahead as Meta and Marvel continue to roll out promotional material.
