The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced a partnership with Lenovo, naming its Legion brand as the Official PC and Gaming Hardware Partner for the Esports World Cup 2025. The agreement will see Lenovo’s gaming devices integrated across training zones, tournament stages, and fan experiences throughout the event, which is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24.
Under this partnership, players competing in the Esports World Cup will use Lenovo Legion Towers, laptops, and peripherals. The Legion Tower 7i, equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 desktop GPU and advanced cooling solutions, will serve as a key device for the event, alongside the Legion Tower 5i featuring an RTX 5070 Ti GPU. Both towers include expanded I/O support and Legion Coldfront cooling systems designed for high-performance gaming under the demands of competitive play.
Attendees will also encounter Legion Pro 7i laptops, which offer desktop-level performance in a portable form factor. These laptops integrate up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPUs, supported by Legion Coldfront Vapor thermal systems that allow for up to 250W TDP. The devices feature 16-inch PureSight OLED displays, delivering visual clarity suited to esports environments while enabling gamers to compete away from traditional setups.
Commenting on the partnership, Mohammed Al Nimer, Chief Commercial Officer at EWCF, stated that the Esports World Cup aims to set a new standard in global competition and supporting technology. He emphasised the importance of reliable and high-speed hardware for elite players who rely on consistent performance under competitive pressure.
Volker Düring, VP of PC Gaming Business at Lenovo, noted that the Esports World Cup represents an opportunity to demonstrate Legion’s capability to support gamers in achieving their goals on a global stage. As part of the partnership, Lenovo Legion’s branding will appear across EWC’s broadcast streams, digital content, and onsite festival zones, where fans will have access to Lenovo gaming devices for hands-on experiences.
The upcoming Esports World Cup will host 25 tournaments covering 24 games, featuring participation from over 2,000 players and 200 clubs representing more than 100 countries. With a prize pool exceeding $70 million, it is set to be the largest in esports history. The event will also incorporate cultural experiences, including live music, cosplay, anime-themed cafes, and retro arcade areas, attracting audiences both online and in person throughout its duration.
The integration of Lenovo Legion hardware into the Esports World Cup infrastructure aligns with a broader industry trend where leading tech brands support global gaming tournaments to showcase their products’ capabilities under high-stakes conditions. For Lenovo, this partnership serves to reinforce its positioning within the gaming market by associating its devices with elite competitive performance.
