Aniplex Inc. has expanded the availability of Resident Evil Survival Unit to 17 additional countries across the Middle East and North Africa, marking a broader regional rollout for the mobile title. Alongside the expansion, the game now includes full Arabic language support worldwide, enabling both new and existing players to switch languages through the in-game settings. The game is currently available on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play.
The regional update goes beyond basic translation. According to Aniplex, the Arabic rollout includes localized interface elements and in-game text designed to better suit Arabic-speaking audiences, reflecting a growing industry focus on deeper regional adaptation rather than one-size-fits-all releases. Players across the Middle East and North Africa can now access the same core content as other regions, with language support intended to reduce friction for long-term play.
Co-developed with JOYCITY Corporation, Resident Evil Survival Unit is based on the long-running Resident Evil franchise from Capcom, but it takes a different approach from the mainline console entries. Designed specifically for mobile platforms, the game blends real-time strategy systems with survival mechanics, focusing on base building, resource management, and coordinated combat rather than action-heavy horror gameplay.
The game is set in a parallel world inspired by the Resident Evil universe, allowing the developers more flexibility with story and structure. Players are tasked with establishing and defending bases within a collapsed city while facing hostile creatures and environmental threats. Familiar characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentineappear throughout the experience, with team-building systems that allow combinations not typically seen in the original games.
Beyond solo missions and structured challenges, the game emphasizes alliance-based play. Players can form groups, coordinate strategies, and participate in larger-scale encounters, leaning into the social and competitive dynamics that are common in long-running mobile strategy titles.
One notable addition is the involvement of Yoshitaka Amano as a guest designer. Known for his distinct visual style, Amano contributed an original creature called Mortem, which represents themes of unseen fear and anxiety. The character adds a new visual and thematic layer to the game world, reinforcing its darker tone while remaining separate from established Resident Evil canon.
With Arabic localization now live and further regional launches planned for 2026 in select Asian markets, Resident Evil Survival Unit reflects how major franchises are continuing to adapt their mobile offerings for global audiences, prioritizing accessibility and regional relevance alongside brand recognition.
