PUBG MOBILE has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Al Shami, extending a music-focused partnership that began with the release of the Wayli animated cinematic video. Rather than remaining a promotional crossover outside the core game, the new phase integrates the artist directly into gameplay systems, positioning the update as part of PUBG MOBILE’s broader strategy to use live-service mechanics for cultural and entertainment-driven experiences.
The latest update introduces an Al Shami voice pack, allowing players to equip in-game audio inspired by the artist during matches. This feature is distributed through a dedicated Al Shami crate, which also includes cosmetic items tied to the collaboration. These range from a themed character outfit and facial design to an emote referencing Dabke, a traditional Levantine dance form. Additional items, such as a space gift and profile customizations, round out the offering. While none of these elements affect gameplay balance, they continue the game’s long-standing emphasis on personalization as a form of player expression.
Alongside cosmetic content, PUBG MOBILE has launched a limited-time in-game event centered on Al Shami. Hosted within the event center, the activity structure follows a familiar format: players complete missions to earn points, which can then be exchanged for in-game rewards. In this case, the rewards include access to two of the artist’s tracks, Doctor and Wayli, which can be played within the game environment. This approach reflects a growing trend in multiplayer titles, where music is used not just as background ambience but as interactive content tied to progression systems.
From a broader perspective, the collaboration highlights how PUBG MOBILE continues to position itself as more than a competitive shooter. Over recent years, the platform has increasingly hosted virtual concerts, branded events, and regional partnerships aimed at maintaining engagement across a diverse global audience. By working with artists like Al Shami, the game also taps into regional music scenes that may be underrepresented in mainstream gaming collaborations, particularly within the Middle East and North Africa.
At the same time, this expansion underscores how live-service games rely on frequent content updates to sustain interest. Music-driven collaborations offer a relatively low-risk way to refresh the player experience without introducing new mechanics or altering competitive balance. For players, the value lies less in novelty and more in whether the content feels meaningfully integrated rather than purely cosmetic.
The new Al Shami content is available now, with PUBG MOBILE remaining free to download on both the App Store and the Google Play Store.
