It’s exciting times for esports here in the region, and it seems the competition between Valour and Yalla eSports will only get more intense in the times to come.

In partnership with the leading Middle East eSports operators Power League Gaming (PLG), HP hosted the Overwatch gaming tournament at the recent edition of Middle East Film and Comic Con. During the event, the competition took place in the PLG Arena powered by OMEN by HP, which brought together a total of 16 local gaming teams to battle each other for a chance to qualify in the regional finals of the first season of the PLG Nationals tournament with Overwatch.

Visitors of the 3-day MEFFC event witnessed exhilarating gameplay from the tournament concluded on Friday; bringing out the best competition from participating teams with a prize money pool of 10,000 AED, up for grabs.

During the competition, HP powered participating gamers with HP OMEN Gaming laptops to deliver the best experience on the main stage. The competition winners were Yalla eSports coming out on top and took home 6,000 AED as the prize as well as advancing to the regional finals of the first season of the PLG Nationals tournament with Overwatch, alongside Valour eSports as runner-up and winning 3,000 AED.

The PLG Arena powered by OMEN by HP also included an experience zone for visitors to check out and demo the latest OMEN products, which included OMEN X Desktops and OMEN gaming laptops. HP OMEN gaming systems have been popular with the local gaming community due to its powerful gaming hardware and slick laptop designs. It enables gamers to be well prepared to take on the latest AAA gaming titles.

Visitors at the PLG Arena also had the chance to be part of the exciting gaming experience by playing Overwatch and Battlefield 1 on the latest product lines from OMEN by HP during the 3-day event.
