Late last year, Microsoft revealed the Xbox One S Minecraft bundle featuring a 500GB console with the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. That bundle is finally available in the Middle East and it starts at AED 999. We had a look at it, and rather than just telling you what’s inside, let’s show you.
The box is minecraft themed, so we have to have our pixelated packaging fix. Considering this is the Xbox One S, it’s fairly light too. If you want to surprise a kid who loves Minecraft, this is the pipe dream.
The bundle comes with a 500 GB white Xbox One S, a controller (the new, Bluetooth-enabled one with textured grips) as standard. I do have a gripe with pure white Xbox One controllers getting worn out quickly.
I did wish that the console had a pixelated sticker to set the bundle apart, but you can always source third party stickers.
The bundle also includes the download codes for a copy of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. DLC for the game, including the Favorites Pack and the Builder’s Pack, along with access to the Minecraft Windows 10 PC beta. As a minecraft player from the Mojang era, I’d say this bundle is great for getting the younger gaming generation, something to start off with. Minecraft’s also great for script kiddies and for building vast worlds. It’s nice to see that Microsoft isn’t still done with Minecraft after their acquisition, more so for the community that continues to build things from scale models of Game of Thrones, to building a gameboy in the game world.
You can buy the bundle from Geekay Games , Sharaf DG , Souq.com and other major retailers in Dubai. At AED 999, I think that’s well worth the investment to start your kid off into a world of gaming that’s pretty much edutainment but to set them off into an rpg, now that warrants a gamer’s salute from me.
