Twitch has slowly been moving towards providing a more social experience for both its streamers and their respective users that can extend beyond Twitch Chat. Back in 2015, they introduced private messaging and then just last year they let streamers keep their audience up to date via the Channel Feed. Twitch Pulse is an extension of that channel feed, but instead of appearing on the channel page, will now also appear on the front page of Twitch.

Twitch Pulse, according to Twitch, is a place where streamers can post and engage with all of their followers and the greater Twitch community right from the Twitch front page. It’s an always-on way to share clips, stream highlights, schedules, photos, and more so followers are more informed, engaged, and connected. These posts will appear to the broadcaster’s followers on the Twitch homepage in a reverse- chronological stream, which is the same format Twitter employs.
Most users of Twitch should be able to see the new front page today, as long as they’re logged in. However, if you still can’t see it, you needn’t worry as it will be rolled out over the next few weeks. Furthermore, the Channel Feed will be auto-enabled for all streamers in mid-March.
Pulse will also be appearing on the Twitch Mobile App, so streamers will be able to share a fresh clip, or just post something that made them laugh, even while they’re on the go. Followers and friends will similarly be able to view their posts on the Twitch Mobile app.
While posts on Twitch Pulse currently appear in chronological order, Twitch will be looking to see how to afford certain posts better visibility, a move we’ve seen by both Facebook and Twitter when it comes to their respective news feeds.
Twitch has made a slew of recent updates, including Twitch Prime for Amazon Prime users, allowing users to post vlogs with Twitch IRL and more.
