The mythical unicorn of a video-game, No Man’s Sky, has been somewhat of a mystery. From its surprise preview at VGA 2013, which practically stole the whole show, to the meager snippets of the game that the public has been receiving, No Man’s Sky remains to be quite a reclusive video game. Until now.
An announcement was made on the PlayStation blog from none other than Hello games co-founder – Sean Murray. The announcement stated that the game will be set to release June 21st for both PC and PS4. To add to it, the game will be sold both digitally (on the Playstation Store and Steam) and at retail stores for $59.99. Sony has been very supportive of this project from the start, and thus, PS4 users will not only be able to be a standard version of the retail copy but they will be able to purchase a limited edition of the game.
The limited edition, includes an exclusive comic, art book, starter kit, and a dynamic theme for the PS homepage, all of which is neatly packed within a steelbook case. The limited edition can be seen for your viewing pleasure on the Sony website.

But if you want to treat yourself, you can get the “Explorer’s Edition” which includes a hand-painted replica of one of the game’s ships, a backdrop to display the ship in front of, an enamel pin and a “mystery item” which will be revealed when the collection launches. It is priced at a whopping $149. Unfortunately for console gamers, the “Explorer’s Edition” only contains PC keys for the game and, what’s more, there are only 10,000 sets of the “Explorer’s Edition.”

Keep your fingers crossed readers, and hope that this game does make it in time for the release date, for we wouldn’t want it to follow in the steps of Uncharted 4. Then again, delayed release dates can be good as it gives the developers more time to fine tune the game, and fine tuning is especially important to a game as mammoth as No Man’s Sky.
