PUBG Mobile and Babymonster team up for a music-led in-game event

PUBG Mobile is expanding its ongoing push into music-driven collaborations with the return of Babymonster, introducing a wide slate of themed events, cosmetic items, and limited-time gameplay features that merge the group’s performances with the game’s familiar battleground setting. Rather than relying solely on traditional crossover cosmetics, this partnership leans heavily into rhythm-based mini-games and interactive set pieces aimed at creating a more music-forward in-game experience.

The collaboration is anchored by the first live-action trailer featuring Babymonster within the PUBG Mobile universe, set to the group’s track Sheesh. The video blends performance staging with the game’s aesthetic, reflecting an approach that focuses more on spectacle than narrative. Throughout the event period—running until January 5—players can access the Babymonster Cloud Stage in Erangel, where a rhythm challenge uses songs such as Sheesh, Drip, and Hot Sauce as scoring backdrops. These activities reward points that can be traded for cosmetic items, and they offer a structured way for players to engage with the crossover without stepping outside the game’s existing mechanics. A dedicated balloon transport, photo wall, and performance area extend the theme, emphasizing visual features alongside gameplay.

Other interactive elements appear across Erangel, including themed flare guns, smoke grenades that restore health, and a merch crate containing limited-edition items. These additions follow PUBG Mobile’s pattern of tying crossover events to gameplay tweaks—temporary and cosmetic rather than competitive—allowing players to engage without shifting the balance of play. The Babymonster Video Bus and returning photo booth offer a more social angle, operating as touchpoints for players who prefer lighter interaction rather than in-match challenges.

Cosmetic collectors will find a sizeable catalog tied to the collaboration. Until December 31, players can unlock the Babymonster Drip Collection, a limited Horn Hoodie set, and character voice packs. Emotes tied to the group’s popular tracks are also featured, an increasingly common way for games to integrate musical partnerships while giving players options for self-expression. The themed content extends into World of Wonder and Home mode, which include decorative items, simple mini-games, and audio devices that play the group’s songs—continuing a trend where crossovers are expected to reach beyond core matchmaking modes.

Tencent’s publishing team positions these collaborations as a way to align the game with global music and youth culture trends. While this framing often echoes broader entertainment marketing language, it reflects how large mobile games now operate as platforms for cultural tie-ins rather than purely competitive arenas. For Babymonster, currently promoting new music and an expanding global tour, the collaboration functions as an additional visibility channel in markets where PUBG Mobile maintains a strong presence.

The event remains available in-game through early January, with most rewards requiring consistent participation rather than direct purchase. As with previous crossover efforts, the broader aim appears to be sustaining player engagement through themed content without significantly altering the core battle royale structure. PUBG Mobile continues to use these limited-time partnerships to extend its reach into adjacent entertainment spaces, leveraging music-driven experiences as a way to keep the platform active between major seasonal updates.
