PUBG MOBILE has officially launched UNFAIL, its first asymmetrical PVP mode, bringing predator-versus-survivor gameplay to the franchise for the first time. After a preview at gamescom 2025, the mode is now live worldwide, offering a new layer of tension and strategy beyond traditional battle royale.
UNFAIL drops five players into a reimagined version of Erangel’s Mylta Power plant, now abandoned and overgrown after a radiation leak. In each match, one player becomes the Predator — a mutated former electrician with the ability to drag opponents in, slow them down, or turn invisible — while the other four play as Survivors. To win, Survivors must navigate the power plant’s zones, activate terminals, and escape through exit gates, all while outmaneuvering the Predator.
The mode emphasizes interactive survival mechanics. Survivors can flip pallets to block pursuit, hide in distribution boxes, or slide under electrified barriers to gain ground. Fire extinguishers can be deployed to obscure the Predator’s vision, while berries restore health and special items like jet gauntlets, AEDs, and wrenches provide crucial tactical advantages.
Movement and environmental interaction play a major role. Survivors can vault windows, use sliding to dodge, and trigger objects in the environment to slow or distract the Predator. The game also introduces new tools for pacing and strategy, including a scoring system that tracks both teamwork and individual performance, and an ECG-style heartbeat display that intensifies as danger closes in.
For PUBG MOBILE, UNFAIL marks a significant expansion of its gameplay formula. By blending horror-inspired survival with tactical cooperation, it brings fresh tension to the battlegrounds while rewarding smart use of items and coordinated teamwork.
UNFAIL is available now as part of PUBG MOBILE’s global rollout. Players can download the update on the App Store and Google Play Store to experience the new mode.
