Virtual Reality has captured the of geeks ever since its inception. We’ve heard tales of Samsung’s Gear VR, the HTC Vive and of course the Oculus Rift. However there is one thing that’s stood in the way of every gamer getting their hand on some VR gear: they’re expensive.
Oculus themselves generated a lot of anger and buzz recently after announcing that you could pre-order the Oculus Rift for $600; the company had been saying for months that it would only cost somewhere around $400. Furthermore, even if you pre ordered an Oculus, chances are you would also have to spend money to buy a new PC or upgrade your existing gaming rig so that it would be VR ready resulting in your wallet haemorrhaging even more cash. However, Oculus have recently announced the availability of pre-purchasing VR ready PCs from the 16th of February onwards.
Seven PCs have been announced from Asus, Alienware and Dell. All of the bundles will include an Oculus-certified PC and everything that comes with Rift – the headset, sensor, remote, an Xbox One controller, EVE: Valkyrie Founder’s Pack, and Lucky’s Tale! You’ll be able to pre-purchase them from the Microsoft Store, Amazon and Best Buy with the cheapest bundle going for $1499.

Pre-orders for Oculus Ready and Rift bundles will ship in limited quantities to select countries and regions from retail partners starting in April.
Luckily for those of you who have already pre-purchased the Oculus Rift but are still waiting to upgrade your PCs, you’ll be able to purchase discounted Oculus ready PCs in select countries and regions..
