Nintendo has unveiled its 2025 Black Friday lineup, offering moderate savings on select Nintendo Switch titles and accessories. The discounts, which begin November 23 at participating retailers, focus primarily on expanding players’ existing Switch game libraries rather than offering major hardware or next-generation incentives.
Several popular Nintendo Switch games will drop to $39.99 during the sale, including Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Princess Peach: Showtime! Meanwhile, a few older but still prominent titles—Nintendo Switch Sports, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Splatoon 3, and Super Mario Odyssey—will see their prices cut to $29.99, reflecting 50% discounts.
What’s absent from the promotion is just as notable as what’s included. None of Nintendo’s newest or Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive games are part of the sale. Recent releases such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, both priced near the $70–$80 range, remain at full cost. Likewise, Nintendo is not offering price cuts on consoles, bundles, or hardware accessories. Retailers like Target, Best Buy, and Walmart are expected to announce their own Black Friday sales in the coming weeks, which may include separate promotions for Switch 2 consoles or first-party titles.
Beyond games, a selection of amiibo figures will receive a $10 discount, including The Legend of Zelda’s Sages collection—Tulin, Yunobo, Riju, and Sidon—as well as Street Fighter 6-themed figures. The most practical deal for Nintendo Switch 2 owners might be the $20 off Samsung’s MicroSD Express Cards, designed to expand the system’s storage capacity.
Nintendo will also run a separate eShop sale from November 20 through December 3, offering digital discounts for both Switch and Switch 2 users. Given the limited nature of the company’s physical promotions this year, the digital sale may provide broader options for those looking to grow their libraries without paying full price.
Nintendo’s restrained approach this Black Friday signals a continued confidence in its core software sales and the staying power of its catalog. While the deals may appeal to players catching up on missed titles, they offer little incentive for hardware upgrades or newcomers to the ecosystem.
