Honor of Kings marks ten years with Sanxingdui cultural collaboration

Honor of Kings marks its tenth anniversary with the “Decade of Promise,” an event that reflects on the game’s long-standing bond with its global player base. As part of the celebration, the game has announced a collaboration with the Sanxingdui Museum, a major Chinese archaeological site known for artifacts dating back nearly 4,000 years. This partnership merges elements of ancient culture with the visual and thematic world of Honor of Kings, guided by filmmaker Zhang Yimou, who serves as the project’s art director.

The collaboration unfolds in two phases running from October 17 to 29, introducing four new Sanxingdui-themed hero skins, event-specific backgrounds, and other collectible content. Each skin draws aesthetic and symbolic influence from traditional Chinese art, bringing new interpretations to the heroes’ designs. Players can earn points through regular matches to unlock these rewards, with additional incentives such as free skins, in-game outfits, and themed cosmetics.

Among the featured skins, Nuwa’s “Spiritual Awakening” and Hou Yi’s “Divine Tree Ascendant” will be available for limited periods through gameplay and event participation. Dyadia’s “Mystic Rites” and Yang Jian’s “Mountains Abound” can be purchased directly, with discounts available during their first release week. Players can also obtain a “Heavenly Arrow” background via lucky draw events and dress up their minions with the limited “Bronzen Braves” skin.

Complementing the visual rewards, the Spriteling Battle mini-game allows players to compete with friends and collect costumes and accessories through a ranking system active from October 17 to November 12. Meanwhile, the 2025 Spriteling Costume Design Contest invites fans to submit their own designs inspired by the theme “Voyage,” with winners receiving cash prizes, exclusive titles, and in-game items.

The anniversary update also introduces Garuda Khageswara, a new mid-lane mage inspired by Indonesian mythology, available as a free unlock between October 21 and 27. Additional login bonuses between October 25 and 26 grant players limited-time skins, tokens, and a full day of access to all heroes and selected skins.

Rounding out the celebration, the game debuts its new theme song, “Atlas of Tomorrow,” performed by singer-songwriter JJ Lin. The track adds a musical layer to the game’s anniversary, emphasizing the community’s role in shaping its future.

Honor of Kings, developed by TiMi Studio Group and published globally by Level Infinite, remains one of the most-played multiplayer online battle arena titles worldwide. With a reported 200 million registered users and over 100 million daily active players, it continues to evolve through collaborations that tie digital entertainment to cultural storytelling.
