Gamers will be experiencing unparalleled excitement next weekend as Middle East Games Con launches their first event in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Taking place over three days starting from November 23rd up to November 25th, the festival will involve every facet of gaming from multiple genres. Whether you’re an Esports fan, a board game geek or even a part-time hack and slasher, Games Con looks to provide avenues for every kind of gamer.

One of the major attractions of gaming events is the chance to partake in new and unreleased content from upcoming video games, and Games Con shows no slacking in that department. With confirmed appearances from some of the most anticipated games of 2018, we can’t wait to get our hands on some sweet demos. Among the plethora of games teased, we’ve seen Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dynasty Warriors 9, Monster Hunter: World, Ni No Kuni 2, Ace Combat 7, Gravel and expect many more to be announced in the coming week.
Stars from across gaming’s vast social landscape have gathered at Games Con to bring their influence and experience to local fans. Popular gamers and vloggers like Ali A, Zerkaa, Vikkstar and Clare Siobhan will be online at the event. Famous voice actors and actresses D.C. Douglas, Brina Palencia and Chloe Hollings among others will also be headlining the massive roster of celebrities.

The stage is set for some prime-time Esports action, with the largest collegiate Dota2 tournament in the Middle East coming to a heated finale. Organized by MSI and Ignis Intra, the tournament features university-level teams from across the UAE who have proved themselves across multiple qualifiers for a chance to win a piece of the massive AED 15,000 prize pool. Apart from Dota 2, challengers are stepping up in tournaments for Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 organized by Power League Gaming, with registrations open to everyone attending the event. Some of the region’s most popular local teams, Yalla Esports and Nasr Esports will also be attending the event.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg however. In collaboration with the National Media Council, Games Con will be hosting various workshops focused on video game development and design. One of the most exciting parts of the event will undoubtedly be the incredible talent showcased at the Cosplay Contest, where attendees from across the region will be battling it out in a war of costumes and cosmetics.
