Techland is leaning into the Halloween season with fresh updates for both Dying Light: The Beast and Dying Light 2: Stay Human, bringing new content, fixes, and limited-time events aimed at players looking for a bit of seasonal terror.
The latest update for Dying Light: The Beast adds a mix of gameplay tweaks and visual polish, but the standout feature is a smarter enemy system. Human opponents now recognize when a firearm is aimed their way and may choose to surrender instead of fighting to the death, creating more reactive and unpredictable encounters. The update also expands combat variety with nine new weapon finishers across all major weapon types—from one-handed blades and heavy blunt weapons to knives and knuckledusters—giving players a fresh set of brutal execution animations.
Alongside the update, Techland has launched the third week of its ongoing Community Challenges, called “Call of the Beast.” This week’s goal focuses on precision: players must collectively land millions of accurate firearm shots to unlock community-wide rewards, including the Marksman Car Skin and the Bullseye rifle.
Beyond the headline features, the patch includes a wide slate of refinements across progression systems, stability, visuals, and audio, plus adjustments to the in-game economy. Techland says the update continues its broader effort to fine-tune the experience based on community feedback. Full patch notes are available via the studio’s official channels.
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2: Stay Human is celebrating Halloween with its own event, adding themed activities and visual touches designed to match the season’s eerie atmosphere. For a franchise already steeped in tension and survival horror, the timing couldn’t be better.
