Dubai’s YaLLa Esports scales up Counter-Strike 2 tournaments with year-round events

YaLLa Esports, the Dubai-based tournament organizer behind several of the most-watched Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) competitions in recent years, is significantly expanding its tournament calendar through 2027. Following a strong reception to its new Tier 2 competition series, the company has confirmed an aggressive rollout of additional events across both Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels, reinforcing its position as a central player in global esports programming.

Launched earlier this year, YaLLa Contenders was originally intended as a two-season pilot in 2025 to test infrastructure and gauge demand within the Tier 2 scene. The series quickly exceeded expectations, driving strong engagement from teams, fans, and broadcast partners. In response, YaLLa Esports will now deliver four seasons of Contenders in 2025 and expand to eight in 2026, making it one of the most active Tier 2 CS2 ecosystems worldwide.

“Contenders started as a lean experiment,” said Klaus Kajetski, founder of YaLLa Esports. “But the overwhelming community support proved there’s a real appetite for consistent, high-quality Tier 2 competition. We’re turning it into a foundational part of our calendar.”

This expanded Tier 2 slate will operate in tandem with YaLLa Compass, the company’s flagship Tier 1 LAN series. The next Compass LAN is set for November 2025 in Dubai, with a full 2026 schedule already announced and the first 2027 LAN locked in for April 14–25. These events will anchor YaLLa’s calendar with premium, arena-level competition, while Contenders will fill the gaps year-round with online and regional matchups, offering consistent visibility for emerging teams and talent.

The hybrid structure—marrying global LAN events with a continuous Tier 2 circuit—addresses a persistent gap in the esports ecosystem: the lack of a reliable development pipeline for players and organizations. By providing scalable opportunities and international exposure, YaLLa’s model is gaining traction as both sustainable and competitive, especially as the CS2 landscape shifts post-launch.

Operating from Dubai, YaLLa Esports leverages regional infrastructure and international reach to stage global-facing tournaments with localized engagement. Its growth trajectory also aligns with broader ambitions from the UAE to invest in digital economies and creative industries. With access to a deep talent pool and the capacity to host major live events, Dubai is rapidly positioning itself as a key esports hub.
