For those who remember, game communication client, Discord was banned earlier this year on Etisalat connections following the TRA directive. Etisalat’s response to the ban on twitter was “The access to Discord application is blocked as per the United Arab Emirates’ Regulatory Framework.”
I received a tip from twitter user @MohAlQassemi earlier today that Etisalat has allowed connections to the app.

I tested the app with the community, inside and outside the UAE, from phone and desktop clients and can confirm that the app works perfectly. The exception being that it doesn’t run voice communications very well on mobile data usage.
We’ve yet to receive official confirmation from Etisalat on this, however the gaming and local geek community are certainly pleased on the reversal of the ban.
