We talked to Cyber Sports League back in March, when they told me about what sets them apart from other e-sports leagues in the UAE. Their passion and dedication to Cyber Sports League have been reflected in the outpouring of support and gamers eager to win both fame and money. As a result, their recent BlasterX Online Open CS:GO Tournament reached lofty heights.
Streaming once again from the front page of Twitch, over 200,000 people tuned in to see the two-day tournament, which is unprecedented in the Middle East. This is the result of a culmination of knowledgeable and interesting commentary as well as a successful social media campaign. As a result, Cyber Sports League now has a reputation among the region’s gamers for hosting well-organized, world-class tournaments that are also streamed professionally and are enjoyable to watch, utilizing professional eSports standards and rules.
Winning the Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournament was the UAE based team “Last Resort”, with “Evolve” from Kuwait coming in second. Teamnarcos, merage, Team TFO coming in 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively. For a full rundown of the tournament, you can click here.
CSL have told me that they are in the process of planning a Dota 2 tournament. Stay tuned for updates!
