Let’s be honest for a moment, we’ve all at some point decided to put our username or gaming tags as some hideous homage to even a more obscene reference. Be it those names inspired from our dark music taste during our disgruntled early teen years (Bloodtears85) or from movies that we somehow think associate to our personality (devilhunterdemigod754). The beauty of these names is how they can invoke so much shame as the years pass and we mature as human beings. Sadly, not many gaming platforms realise that young uninitiated teens can learn from their mistakes.
However, the Blizzard has heard our woes and granted us the chance to change our Battle.net username. But only once. So make it count. As announced by a tweet through the official Heroes of The Storm twitter account, the choice was made as a way to commemorate the release of Overwatch. Players should keep Blizzard’s naming convention guidelines in mind when revising their usernames. So go forth my fellow gamers and undo the evil you have done upon your names years back because you thought being a vampire hunter was a cool thing to be after you watched Blade 2.
With the release of #Overwatch, you can now change your BattleTag once! https://t.co/xK4nkBwyvk pic.twitter.com/bjn5Ax0t5w
