EA and Battlefield Studios have detailed the next major patch for Battlefield 6 and its companion mode REDSEC, confirming that update 1.1.1.5 will roll out on November 11 at 1 a.m. PT / 4 a.m. ET. The patch introduces a range of quality-of-life improvements, weapon balancing adjustments, and long-awaited fixes—including a resolution to one of the most notorious exploits since the game’s launch.
At the top of the list is the fix for the now infamous “sledgehammer drone” glitch. This exploit, which let players ride friendly XFGM-6D Recon drones into the air by hitting them with a sledgehammer, had become both a source of amusement and frustration in equal measure. What began as a lighthearted in-game stunt evolved into a gameplay-breaking bug, allowing players to access hard-to-reach vantage points and disrupt competitive balance. Update 1.1.1.5 closes that loophole for good.
Beyond that, the patch refines vehicle mechanics and weapon performance. Countermeasure reliability has been improved—particularly for flares and other defenses against lock-guided missiles—while a spawning issue that occasionally left vehicles missing from Breakthrough and Conquest matches has been resolved. Infantry players should notice tighter handling thanks to adjustments that reduce weapon dispersion after sprinting and during rapid transitions into aiming down sights. Battlefield Studios says these tweaks should result in smoother, more consistent accuracy during fast-paced engagements.
Other refinements include fixes to match flow and progression in Battle Royale, improved UI stability, and corrections to lingering bugs affecting sound and animation. The team also addressed issues in REDSEC, such as matches failing to end correctly, squads being incorrectly eliminated after revives, and progression challenges not tracking as intended.
Since its release in October, Battlefield 6 has received frequent patches as EA and its development team continue to balance gameplay systems and respond to player feedback. The latest update follows previous efforts to streamline challenge progression and refine the game’s visual design, signaling ongoing support as the title’s first competitive season continues.
