I’ve been keeping tabs on the progress of an indie game that’s recently made its way on to Kickstarter. While the game’s in its early stages, it’s the multiplayer tech that promises to drive the game that’s interesting.
ARC Continuum is a third person action/adventure set on Taraan, a desert planet with a mystical energy at its core that powers the ARC – a device that allows you to control and manipulate the fabric of time. Take the role of our hero, Hadrian who is thrust into the midst of a revolution on the rise, where he must master the powers of time to free his people from the bondages of oppression from the evil Kasaar.
The game draws inspiration from games like Prince of Persia, Deus Ex, Infamous and Dishonored with more of a sci-fi focus. ARC Continuum entered Steam Greenlight in September 2015 and was approved within a week. Since then, Indie studio Akimbo Creations have made immense progress and have fine-tuned gameplay mechanics and artwork as they move closer to the release date. It will also be the first game to use the studio’s proprietary Fault Tolerant Distributed Networking System (P2P) that will revolutionize the multiplayer gaming industry with its real time cheat detection and massively reduced cost on server operators.

Here’s wishing the studio, the best of luck!
