Blizzard Entertainment has revealed a limited-time crossover event called Slayer’s Reign, set to bring elements from DOOM: The Dark Ages into Diablo Immortal starting April 16 and running through May 13.
The collaboration introduces DOOM-inspired gameplay, enemies, cosmetics, and progression mechanics into the mobile action RPG’s world of Sanctuary. It draws directly from the medieval hellscape depicted in the upcoming shooter, blending fast-paced aggression with the game’s existing dark fantasy setting.
Central to the event is a revamped version of Survivors Bane mode, renamed Slayer’s Bane. Players will use abilities and weapons modeled after the Doom Slayer, including the Shield Saw, Dreadmace, and Super Shotgun. These tools emphasize aggressive movement, crowd control, and sustained offense, shifting the mode toward the momentum-driven style familiar to DOOM fans.
DOOM’s signature enemies will also appear in Sanctuary. Imps will patrol battlefields, while the massive Cyberdemon returns as the event’s primary boss, adapted to fit Diablo Immortal’s gothic environment. This marks one of the more direct integrations of the two franchises’ demonic rosters.
A new Legendary Gem called The Crucible adds DOOM-themed progression. It focuses on powerful finishing moves and stacking damage bonuses, echoing the Slayer’s relentless combat rhythm within Diablo Immortal’s loot and upgrade systems.
On the cosmetic side, players can earn weapon skins infused with Argent Energy, the Slayer’s Praetor Armor set, and new familiars such as the Cacodemon and a Serrat mount. These items allow for visual customization without altering core gameplay balance.
The crossover represents a straightforward mash-up of DOOM’s industrial, high-intensity action and Diablo’s horror-infused mythology. While both series have long explored hellish themes, this event tests how well the shooter’s raw brutality translates into a mobile ARPG format that already emphasizes loot grinding and real-time combat.
Slayer’s Reign arrives just ahead of DOOM: The Dark Ages, potentially serving as promotional tie-in for the new title while giving Diablo Immortal players fresh content during its ongoing post-launch phase. Crossovers of this scale have become more common in live-service games, though results vary depending on how deeply the mechanics integrate rather than simply reskin existing systems.
Details remain focused on the event window and featured additions, with no major changes announced to Diablo Immortal’s broader monetization or progression outside the limited period.
