Samsung appears set to unveil its next generation of foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, on July 9. According to a leak from trusted tipster Evan Blass, the Unpacked event will take place at 10 AM EDT, likely in New York City. While Samsung has yet to officially confirm the date or venue, its promotional cadence suggests an announcement is imminent.
These upcoming models are expected to be incremental updates rather than radical redesigns. Industry sources suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will focus on refining the design, optimizing software performance, and improving durability. One notable complaint that continues to trail Samsung’s foldables is battery capacity—an area where competitors like Honor and Oppo have recently pulled ahead.

Rumors indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will retain the 4,400 mAh battery seen in its predecessor, the Z Fold 6. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 could see a modest bump to 4,300 mAh, up from the 4,000 mAh battery in the Z Flip 6. These figures still lag behind rivals like the Honor Magic V3 and Oppo Find N5, which feature 5,150 mAh and 5,600 mAh batteries respectively.
In addition to the new foldables, Samsung is also expected to debut a slate of companion devices during the same event. These include the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and potentially two new high-end tablets: the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra. While the tablets are likely to launch later in the fall, the wearables should be introduced alongside the phones.
If Samsung follows its usual release pattern, pre-orders for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 should open immediately after the Unpacked event, with general availability beginning later in July. Expect major U.S. carriers to stock the devices and Samsung to offer competitive trade-in and promotional deals to entice early buyers.
