Disney+ is packing August with an eclectic mix of new arrivals — from sci-fi thrillers to historical deep dives and family favourites — offering something for every type of viewer.
Sci-fi fans can look forward to FX’s Alien: Earth (Aug. 13), a tense new chapter in the Alien universe. Set in 2120, it follows hybrid soldiers and cyborgs in a corporate-dominated Earth as they face terrifying lifeforms after a mysterious crash-landing. The two-episode premiere sets the stage for a high-stakes survival saga.
Marvel lovers get their own globe-spanning adventure with Eyes of Wakanda (Aug. 1), an animated action series tracking the Hatut Zeraze as they recover powerful Vibranium artifacts throughout history.

On the documentary front, National Geographic’s Lost Treasures of Arabia: The Nabatean Kingdom (Aug. 29) takes viewers to Petra and Hegra to explore the architectural marvels, ancient trade routes, and mysteries surrounding the Nabatean civilization. Also from National Geographic, Chris Hemsworth returns in Limitless: Live Better Now (date TBA), tackling extreme physical and mental challenges in search of science-backed ways to enhance wellbeing.
True-crime followers can mark their calendars for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox (Aug. 20), a limited series revisiting Knox’s wrongful conviction and long legal battle for freedom.
