Inside Samsung’s largest and most ambitious Micro RGB display

At CES 2026, Samsung Electronics introduced the R95H, a 130-inch Micro RGB television positioned at the extreme high end of its display lineup. Samsung describes the model as the world’s first Micro RGB TV at this size, placing it firmly in the category of showcase hardware rather than a mainstream living room product.

The R95H builds on Samsung’s long-running effort to blur the line between display technology and interior design. Its updated “Timeless Gallery” frame is intended to make the panel appear to float, with the screen presented more like a wall-mounted installation than a conventional television. Audio is integrated directly into the frame, with tuning calibrated specifically for a 130-inch panel, an approach that avoids the need for external speakers while reinforcing the all-in-one aesthetic.

From a technical perspective, the R95H is driven by Samsung’s Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, which manages color, brightness, and HDR processing at the pixel level. Unlike traditional LCD or OLED displays, Micro RGB uses individually controlled red, green, and blue light sources, allowing for more precise color reproduction. Samsung says the panel achieves 100 percent coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut, a claim that has received VDE certification. While this places the display at the upper limit of current consumer color standards, the practical benefits will depend on content availability and viewing conditions.

The panel also incorporates Samsung’s proprietary glare-reduction technology, designed to preserve contrast and detail across a range of ambient lighting environments. HDR support includes HDR10+ Advanced, which Samsung is positioning as a next step in dynamic HDR formats, though broader industry adoption remains to be seen. Audio support includes Eclipse Audio, again emphasizing the company’s aim to deliver a self-contained, large-format viewing experience.

As expected for a flagship product in 2026, the R95H includes a wide range of AI-driven software features. Samsung’s Vision AI Companion enables conversational search and personalized content suggestions, while integrated services include Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, live translation tools, and generative wallpaper features. There are also more specialized modes such as AI Football Mode Pro and AI Sound Controller Pro, which attempt to tailor picture and audio settings to specific types of content. How useful these features prove in day-to-day use will likely matter less than their presence as part of a premium feature checklist.

Samsung will be showcasing the R95H in its exhibition zone in Las Vegas during CES 2026. No pricing or availability details have been shared, which is typical for a product of this scale and positioning. For now, the 130-inch Micro RGB TV serves primarily as a statement piece, illustrating where Samsung believes large-format display technology is heading, even if it remains out of reach for most consumers.
