DEEPAL and Al Tayer Motors have formally introduced the DEEPAL G318 to the UAE, positioning the new model as a super hybrid SUV aimed at drivers who split their time between city roads and off-road escapes. Launched on 18 November at Nara Oasis in Dubai, the G318 follows the regional arrival of the DEEPAL S05 and S07 and signals the brand’s intention to build a more visible presence in the MEA market with Al Tayer Motors as its exclusive importer and distributor in the UAE.
The DEEPAL G318 is described as a “Super Hybrid” SUV, combining a dual-motor four-wheel-drive setup with a range-extended electric powertrain. On paper, it promises EV-like responsiveness, a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds, and a fuel-to-electric conversion rate of up to 3.63 kWh per liter. Rather than pitching itself as a pure off-roader or a traditional family SUV, the G318 aims to sit between categories: capable enough for desert and rugged terrain, but still tuned for daily commuting in urban environments.
Visually, the G318 adopts what DEEPAL calls “Meteorolite Cutting” design language, with sharp lines and a blocky, upright stance that follows current SUV styling trends. The exterior is intentionally assertive, but the brand places equal emphasis on the cabin, which features a large central control screen, soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, enhanced sound insulation, and a simplified layout designed to prioritize comfort and reduce noise on longer drives. This approach is clearly aimed at UAE buyers who expect a premium-feeling interior even in utility-focused vehicles.
Underneath, the G318’s hardware is where DEEPAL tries to differentiate itself in the growing hybrid SUV segment. The Magic-Carpet Suspension system combines CDC adaptive damping, air suspension, and terrain-scanning tech to adjust ride characteristics based on road conditions. The ET Intelligent All-Terrain System further integrates control of the engine, suspension, and differentials, automatically tuning the vehicle as conditions change off-road. On the sustainability front, DEEPAL highlights the Golden Shield Battery, which the company associates with a strong safety record and zero spontaneous combustion incidents across over 400,000 units, backed by a lifetime warranty. Combined with the hybrid system’s focus on reduced fuel consumption and extended driving range, the DEEPAL G318 is framed as a more efficient alternative to traditional petrol-only SUVs, without eliminating the flexibility of long-distance travel in a region where charging infrastructure is still developing.
In the UAE, the DEEPAL G318 starts at AED 129,900 and includes a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 150,000 km battery warranty, which will be key considerations for buyers new to the brand.
