iCAUR V27 debuts in UAE with range-extended electric SUV starting at AED 134,999

Chinese new-energy vehicle brand iCAUR has formally entered the UAE market, using Dubai as the stage for the global debut of its V27 SUV. The launch event, held at Park Hyatt Dubai, signals the company’s intent to position the UAE as a strategic hub for regional expansion, particularly as demand for hybrid and electrified SUVs continues to grow across the Gulf.

The iCAUR V27 arrives as a mid-to-large range-extended electric vehicle (REEV), blending electric propulsion with a petrol-powered generator. Unlike conventional plug-in hybrids that can rely directly on the combustion engine to drive the wheels, the V27 operates primarily as an electric vehicle. Its electric motors handle propulsion, while the gasoline engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery when needed. The system delivers a claimed pure electric range of over 150 km and a combined driving range exceeding 995 km, figures that, if reflective of real-world conditions, would position it competitively within the extended-range SUV segment in the UAE.

Measuring over five metres in length with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the V27 adopts a boxy SUV silhouette with round headlamps and upright proportions. The design references classic off-road forms while incorporating contemporary lighting and surface detailing. Inside, the cabin emphasises space and visibility, with a five-seat configuration and a dual panoramic sunroof system that the company says blocks 99.9 percent of UV rays. The interior layout, branded as the “Stellar Cockpit,” focuses on a clean dashboard design and technology integration rather than heavy physical switchgear.

From a development standpoint, iCAUR states that more than 1,000 test vehicles were deployed globally, covering over one million kilometres in durability trials across extreme climates, including Middle Eastern summer conditions. Testing in the UAE and Saudi Arabia reportedly included high-temperature and high-speed evaluations, a key consideration for buyers in the region where sustained highway driving and intense heat are part of daily use.

Priced from AED 134,999, the iCAUR V27 enters the UAE as a relatively accessible option within the electrified SUV category. At this level, it competes with a growing number of Chinese and established global brands offering hybrid and extended-range alternatives aimed at drivers seeking lower fuel consumption without fully committing to battery-only charging infrastructure.

The V27 also introduces a customisation angle, featuring 39 pre-installed ecosystem ports intended for accessory upgrades. While the long-term practicality of such an ecosystem will depend on available add-ons and aftersales support, it reflects a broader trend among new automotive entrants to build lifestyle-focused ownership communities alongside traditional dealership models.

In terms of retail presence, iCAUR has opened a flagship showroom at Dubai’s Oasis Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road, with additional locations in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The company has indicated plans to expand across all seven emirates, alongside aftersales and service infrastructure. The showrooms will also feature AiMOGA Robots as part of the brand’s technology-forward presentation, underscoring its positioning within the new-energy vehicle space.

With the UAE increasingly used as a launchpad for global and regional automotive introductions, the arrival of the iCAUR V27 highlights the continued influx of electrified SUVs into the market. Whether the model can establish long-term traction will depend on real-world efficiency, reliability in Gulf conditions, and the strength of local aftersales support as the brand scales its operations.
