Ford has previewed the 2026 Taurus for the Middle East, giving one of its most successful regional sedans a notable refresh in design, technology, and efficiency. The first look, held in Dubai this month, highlights a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen, new safety tech, and a hybrid powertrain option — updates aimed squarely at keeping the Taurus competitive in the GCC’s crowded midsize market.
The exterior adopts sharper front and rear fascias, reworked headlamps, and new wheel designs that modernize its profile while retaining the car’s familiar proportions. Inside, Ford has re-trimmed the cabin with new materials, colors, and seat fabrics, alongside a redesigned center console for improved comfort and usability. These changes focus less on flash and more on refinement, reflecting how the Taurus has evolved into a dependable family and fleet favorite across Gulf cities.
Technology takes center stage in this update. The larger 13.2-inch central display — reportedly the biggest in its class — now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, eliminating the need for cables. A 360-degree camera system is also standard from the base trim, a welcome addition for navigating tight parking spaces common in urban areas. Higher trims like the Titanium gain a B&O sound system for enhanced in-cabin audio quality, while Trend versions add ventilated front seats — a small but crucial feature for Gulf climates.
Under the hood, Ford continues with its 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but also introduces a 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain aimed at improving efficiency without compromising performance. Both configurations are expected to deliver smooth, relaxed driving suited to daily commuting and long highway runs across the region.
The Taurus remains a key model for Ford in the Middle East, where it consistently ranks among the brand’s top-selling sedans. The company has confirmed a rollout across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan, with pricing and exact launch dates to follow. UAE and Saudi Arabia are expected to be among the first markets to receive stock.
With this refresh, Ford appears focused on preserving the Taurus’ strengths — spaciousness, comfort, and durability — while bringing its tech and efficiency up to modern expectations. The addition of a hybrid variant and segment-leading screen size signal a steady but meaningful evolution rather than a reinvention, aimed at keeping loyal buyers on board while attracting those seeking newer tech and lower running costs.
