ord has unveiled the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, a new variant in its track-focused GTD lineup, at Laguna Seca Raceway. The model emphasizes exposed carbon fiber construction—a material long used in professional racing for its strength-to-weight advantages—bringing the look and performance benefits of race engineering to a road-going Mustang.
Inspired by the Mustang GT3 race car competing in IMSA, the Liquid Carbon trim skips paint entirely, showcasing the raw carbon weave across its bodywork. Ford says the approach isn’t just aesthetic—weight savings are part of the package. Replacing the door sheet metal with bonded carbon fiber and removing paint results in roughly 13 pounds less mass compared to the Mustang GTD Carbon Series equipped with the Performance package.
The precision-matched carbon weave extends across the hood, roof, rear deck, and wing, with fenders and side panels aligned to maintain a uniform pattern. Functional aerodynamic elements remain integral to the design, and the trim includes a standard Performance package. Black Brembo brake calipers, anodized body details, and gloss-black GTD badging distinguish the Liquid Carbon from other GTD models.

Inside, the Liquid Carbon edition features a black leather and Dinamica suede interior accented by Hyper Lime stitching across the seats, door panels, console, dash, and steering wheel. A reflective center gradient in the seat design adds a visual focal point without straying from the performance-oriented cabin layout.
Ford positions the Liquid Carbon alongside the standard GTD, Spirit of America, and Carbon Series trims, giving buyers options ranging from minimal to extensive exposed carbon fiber.
Deliveries of the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon are expected to begin in October, with pricing and full performance specifications aligning with the existing GTD range. Like its siblings, the model is designed to bridge the gap between street car and track machine, borrowing heavily from Ford’s endurance racing program.
