Gangstar Mirage City is getting its first major update before it has even launched worldwide. Level Infinite, Tencent’s global publishing label, and Gameloft are rolling it out now across MENA, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Eastern and Central Europe and Latin America. A full global release is still set for 2027, so these regions are effectively the test ground for what the game becomes.
The headline addition is Vice Tonic, a permanent mode that turns players into small-time producers supplying a city hooked on a fictional supplement. You start with a modest warehouse and make delivery runs past checkpoints and patrols run by Orarra, the game’s in-world authority. Over time that becomes an automated factory you design yourself. The studios say it’s one of the most requested features from the community. It also sounds a lot like the business empires that kept GTA Online players busy for years. Whether it plays as real management or a timed grind built around upgrades is the question it has to answer.
The social side gets its biggest change too. Players can now form or join syndicates of up to 50 members, and the update adds broader tools for teaming up and comparing progress. Syndicates come with Syndicate Wars, where crews fight over control of the city, and a faction turf war called Franchise Fury runs from November 19 to December 9.
Halloween arrives as Frightful Feast, which lasts until November 18. It brings daily login rewards, haunted houses, wandering ghosts, and new areas including Hilltop Park and a campsite. There’s also a limited-time Pumpkin Grenade that inflates a target’s head until it pops. New vehicles include a three-seat Tuk-Tuk whose passengers can shoot from the back, the Razor, a two-seat self-driving supercar, and the Nomad Pro RV, which comes with a customisable interior and an onboard pod that produces daily rewards.
The monetisation side is just as busy. Blackbook is a card-collecting system tied to the season pass, with randomised packs that unlock pieces of the story, and duplicates can be traded with friends and syndicate members. On top of that there’s a new Empire Pass, more items in the shop, and a double pink diamond top-up offer with exclusive cosmetic wings for players who spend enough. Putting story fragments inside random packs is a choice some players will push back on.
Gangstar has been around since 2006 and built its name as mobile’s answer to open-world crime games. The free-to-play, 18+ game is on iOS and Android, with Arabic among its nine text languages. A busy schedule of weekly events runs into December, and the studios say another update is coming later in the season. The real test is whether players stick around once the Halloween decorations are gone.
